Counselling & Psychotherapy in Surrey & online

Integrity. Connection. Healing.

NCPS Accredited, trauma-informed counsellor in Surrey and online – professional and ethical practice

I am a qualified, integrative, trauma-informed counsellor and psychotherapist, experienced in supporting both adults and children. My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and a belief in each person’s capacity for healing and growth.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly twenty years working in education, and before that, I worked within the NHS. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the pressures people face in their daily lives, the impact of stress on wellbeing, and the importance of feeling genuinely heard and understood. Alongside my professional background, my own experiences of navigating life’s challenges have strengthened my ability to meet clients with empathy, steadiness, and respect.

I work therapeutically with a wide range of concerns, including the effects of past trauma, anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, and the emotional strain that can build over time. I also have extensive experience supporting children and young people with issues such as emotional regulation, school-related stress, behavioural challenges, and the impact of family or peer relationships.

I aim to offer a safe, supportive space where you or your child can explore what feels overwhelming, make sense of difficult experiences, and move towards greater clarity, confidence, and resilience.

I hold a current enhanced DBS check.

Supportive & Collaborative Therapeutic Space

I offer a supportive and collaborative therapeutic space where together, we can explore whatever has brought you to counselling, whether that is current stress, anxiety, anger, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, or the impact of past experiences. I work integratively, drawing on a person-centred foundation alongside other modalities, such as psychodynamic and CBT approaches, allowing me to tailor therapy to your individual needs and goals.

Trauma-Informed and Individualised Approach

This means we can gently explore past trauma and significant life experiences, understand how they may still be affecting you today, and develop practical strategies to manage overwhelming thoughts and emotions. I have experience working with PTSD and complex trauma, including the effects of domestic abuse and sexual abuse, and I always work in a trauma-informed way, at a pace that feels safe for you.

Neurodivergence and Flexible Therapy Options

I am also experienced in working with neurodivergence and adapting sessions to suit different ways of thinking and processing. Depending on the depth and nature of what you would like to explore, I can offer both long and short-term therapy, supporting and empowering you towards greater self-understanding, resilience and emotional wellbeing.

My location

In person appointments available in Chertsey, Weybridge, Virginia Water and all surrounding areas. I will provide location details when we arrange our counselling sessions.

In addition to providing in person therapy, I also offer telephone counselling and online sessions for clients anywhere in the UK via Google Meet, WhatsApp or Teams. Contact me to find out more about how online therapy works.

Fees & availability

Sessions are usually held weekly and are available either in person or online. Standard sessions last 50 minutes and are charged at £60 per session, payable in advance via bank transfer. I also offer a limited number of reduced-fee spaces for students or those on a low income; please enquire by email for current availability.

I provide a free initial consultation of up to 20 minutes, with no obligation, by telephone or video call, giving us an opportunity to briefly discuss your needs and see whether we feel we could work well together. The first full assessment session can last up to 75 minutes, allowing us time to explore your background and what you hope to gain from therapy. I require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for cancellations; otherwise, the full session fee will be charged.

Get in touch

You’re very welcome to get in touch if you have any questions about how counselling works, or if you’d like to arrange an initial assessment. This first meeting gives us space to talk about what’s been going on for you, what you’re hoping for, and to see whether counselling could be supportive for you — and whether I’m the right therapist to walk alongside you.
